The Refuge de la Birgmatte, located in Ligsdorf in the heart of the Sundgau region of Alsace, is the perfect starting point for exploring the unspoilt landscapes of the Alsatian Jura.
Whether you are a hiker, walker, cyclist, mountain biker, horse rider or simply a nature lover, you will find a warm and welcoming place to take a break, enjoy a picnic, stay overnight or simply relax in nature.
Hiking from the Refuge
Numerous Club Vosgien marked hiking trails pass directly by the refuge, which is also featured on the association's official hiking maps. It is therefore a popular stop and resting place for hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers and horse riders.
Thanks to its exceptional location, the refuge is the ideal base for exploring the forests, hills and panoramic views of the Sundgau, Ligsdorf, Ferrette and the Alsatian Jura. The region is renowned for its hiking trails, mountain bike routes, cycling tours, horse-riding trails and remarkably well-preserved natural heritage.
