Booking & Cancellation Terms and Conditions

1. Booking
All reservations are subject to the availability of the Refuge de la Birgmatte. A reservation becomes confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit of the total stay. This deposit is paid as a booking deposit. A confirmation email will be sent as soon as the deposit has been received.

2. Payment of the Balance
The remaining balance must be paid according to the payment terms specified in the booking confirmation.

3. Cancellation by the Guest
If the guest cancels the reservation, the deposit remains the property of the Refuge de la Birgmatte and is non-refundable. However, if the accommodation can be rebooked for the same period, the management committee may, at its sole discretion, grant a full or partial refund of the deposit as an exceptional gesture.

4. Cancellation by the Refuge
If the Refuge de la Birgmatte cancels the reservation (except in cases of force majeure), the deposit paid will be refunded in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.

5. Changes to a Reservation
Any request to modify a reservation will be considered according to the availability of the refuge and cannot be guaranteed.

6. House Rules
Every reservation implies acceptance of the House Rules of the Refuge de la Birgmatte.The person responsible for the booking agrees to:
Read the House Rules;
Sign them before the beginning of the stay
Inform all participants of the applicable rules.

7. Respect for the Refuge
The Refuge de la Birgmatte is a non-profit mountain refuge maintained exclusively by volunteers for nearly 80 years. We kindly ask all guests to respect the buildings, facilities, equipment, surrounding nature and the work of our volunteers in order to preserve this unique place for future generations.

8. Force Majeure
The Refuge de la Birgmatte cannot be held liable for the cancellation or interruption of a stay due to force majeure or events beyond its reasonable control.
